Teacher of the Month

December 2021

We are celebrating two great Teachers of the Month for December — Morgan Bradford of Plum Creek Elementary and Cheryl Dozier of Carver Early Education Center!

Both of them are utilizing the Foundation’s innovative teaching grants program to help their Lockhart ISD students learn in creative new ways.

Bradford’s “Bringing the Outside Into the Classroom” project allows students to have hands-on activities in science, coding, and other subject areas in order to make real world connections to their learning. The grant is helping purchase butterfly garden and plant lab materials, multiplication/division and word games, and reading comprehension materials.

Dozier’s “Cub Garden—where Young Minds Bloom” project will transform a garden area into an outdoor learning space and help with purchasing materials for new manipulatives, plants, sustainable walkways. With its winding paths, bright colors, and aromatic plants, teachers and students will enjoy the interactive lessons in the stepping stone area. Cub Garden will truly be a space where young minds bloom.

We appreciate these two outstanding LISD educators!
